the unit adopts a new process of direct alkylation of ethanol to ethylbenzene and then dehydrogenation to styrene. Since it was officially put into operation on October 26, the unit has operated smoothly, with styrene purity of more than 99.9% and output of 110% of the design capacity. Compared with the traditional ethylene process, the new process has less heavy components in the alkylation products, and the yield of ethylbenzene in the alkylation liquid is 20% - 15%; The tail gas emission is small, and the alkylation tail gas is hardly discharged from the top of benzene tower. From the perspective of material balance, the consumption of benzene and ethanol per ton of ethylbenzene in the unit is less than the design value, the consumption of ethanol is close to the theoretical value of 463kg, and the consumption of benzene is equivalent to that of ethylene method. At the same time, due to the failure of this component, the pendulum control will fail. The active temperature of the catalyst is lower than that of the high temperature alkylation ethylene method, and the energy consumption of the device is also lower
Yuhuang chemical has no ethylene resources. If ethanol dehydration is used to produce ethylene, and then alkylation is used to produce ethylbenzene, the process route is long, and the investment and operation costs are relatively high. Therefore, Yuhuang chemical chose the process technology of direct vapor phase alkylation of ethanol to prepare ethylbenzene and vacuum adiabatic dehydrogenation to prepare styrene. Among them, the 10000 ton/year direct alkylation technology of ethanol and the 215000 ton/year process package for the preparation of ethylbenzene developed by Jiangsu Danyang Chemical and pharmaceutical design and Research Institute ensure that there are fewer dehydration side reactions and alkylation side reactions, the ethanol conversion rate is greater than or equal to 99.5%, and the ethylbenzene output is 26 ~ 2. The domestic wood plastic industry is bound to usher in a new round of explosive growth of 8 tons/hour, and the purity of ethylbenzene is 99.6% - 99.9%. The device adopts the catalyst for ethanol dehydration/alkylation of ethylene and benzene jointly developed by Dalian University of technology and Nanjing Xuanda Chemical Co., Ltd., which ensures that the conversion rate of ethanol is more than 99.5%, with less side reactions and high utilization rate of ethylene. Because the alkylation reaction temperature is low, the amount of tar produced by using this catalyst is significantly lower than that of using other catalysts. The dehydrogenation reactor adopts the domestically developed axial and radial reactor, which has high volume utilization rate and catalyst utilization rate. The four tower process is adopted for the fractionation and refining of dehydrogenation liquid, in which the crude styrene ethylene tower and refined styrene tower use high-efficiency packing, vacuum distillation, and fully treat the process condensate and tail gas, and the emission of "three wastes" is very small
